How did Charles die?

Are you really sure you want to hear about that? I mean... who even told you about that in the first place?

I know about the creature that stole his mind. I want to know how he had the opportunity to take it.

[ he ignores the other bit because - well, nothing he's asked about is anything he was sure of, ever. and he's not going to let on about loki either. too many questions. ]

It's a really long story and I'm not sure how much of it you would understand or how much of it even applies to your world. You might not be from my universe at all so none of this may happen. The short of it is that he was killed in battle by a former student. It's more complicated than that, of course. It always is, right?

I can't presume to know what's going on in your head. I first met you before all of that happened. My mother was lost and I needed to find her... You wanted to find her too, so it was basically beneficial for us both to work together. But after all was said and done, we lost contact.

[Easier to say that than Billy went into a major depressive episode, right? He'd rather not share his mental breakdowns.

Plus, Magneto hadn't made an effort to really contact him after the fact either.]

I can say in my world you, even after he dies, you still work with the guy who kills him.

I find it

It's hard to control certain things when I am angry. It wasn't personal.

No, it's okay. I didn't think it was. I guess losing control of certain powers runs in the family. It's just I might type you a novel over text... which I can if it's really easier.

Our power is linked to our emotions. That's how it works at times.

Which would you prefer?

Sometimes I really wish it didn't though. It'd be nice to not have to worry about doing serious damage if things get out of control. Either way is fine. Whichever one you think you'll be able to handle easiest. I mean, no offense, but I don't really want to be on the receiving end of you losing control. But... I also don't want to leave you alone either. None of this can be easy to hear.

I shouldn't tell you the time I almost drowned from my anger, then?

Perhaps voice would be better, then. I can't make promises. Not about this, when it is with regards to the future of us and our kind.
