This is not something Billy ever thought he'd be doing or agreeing to. Road tripping with Tommy? Or at all? But his mom insisted that it would be a good experience for him, for Tommy too, and give them both time to not only get to know each other more, but time to think as well. His dad insisted that they'd pay for the entire trip, so...
How could he really say no?
Maybe they had a point. It isn't like they weren't usually full of good advice when Billy bothered to take it.
It's not like he didn't want to spend more time with Tommy anyway. It's not like they ever get much chance to do so in their day-to-day lives when they're both torn this way and that way. Both busy.
So that's how they ended up here. Billy tucks the keys into his pocket as he loads up the last of his luggage. He's already said goodbye to his parents, said goodbye to his little bros and promised they'd get to go on the next road trip when they started to fuss. With all the goodbyes out of the way and everything loaded up, Billy finds himself grinning over their car as he goes around to the driver's side. He pauses to flash a playful look to his twin.
"You know you're not getting the keys, right?"
How could he really say no?
